At Richard Marton Electrical Contractor LLC, installing, replacing, or even moving outlets is our most favorite things to do. Maybe you need a dedicated circuit to a new outlet installed for a vacuum. Or you have got an outlet that has stopped working or has “burn” marks around the outside of the outlet plate. How about it was time to buy new furniture or re-arrange the furniture you have and the table lamp cord won’t reach the outlet. Please don’t run an extension cord. Extension cords are the 3rd most leading threat of a fire.

You might have bought a new floor lamp that comes with a three prong plug and you only have a two prong outlet to plug it into. Please don’t use an adapter. this will remove the grounding part of the system. Let’s replace those old two-prong ungrounded outlets with grounded three prong outlets.

How Many Convenience Outlets Do I Need in Each Room?

In every kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, parlor, library, den, bedroom, or similar room or area of dwelling units, receptacle outlets shall be installed so that no point along the floor line of any wall space there is more than 6 feet, from an outlet measured to another outlet in that space.

This is to prevent the use of extension cords. Outlets are usually placed about 18 inches above the floor level. Switches usually go about 48 inches from floor level.

From outlets and switches to GFCI installations, Richard Marton Electrical Contractor LLC is here to take care of all your residential or business electrical repair needs.

If you have outlets that are not working, it could be an indicator of a more serious problem. You can count on us to get to the bottom of your electrical problems and provide you with affordable solutions for fixing the issue.
