Your Home’s Electrical Panel is the Brain of Your System

The electric panel controls the electricity in your house. The main power comes off of the street into your electrical meter. From the meter, the power runs into the main breaker in your electrical panel.

There should be several circuit breakers that run the current to your appliances, outlets, and lighting throughout your home. If there is an overload or short circuit imposed anywhere on the circuit, the breaker should trip to the off position.

Most panels range from 60 to 200 amps for a household depending on the size of the house or what appliances are used in the house.

If you have a smaller panel that has a 60 amp capacity and you want to add a hot tub or an addition to your house will require what is called a service upgrade. Upgrades can range from 100 to 200 amps.  We will come to your house to do a proper assessment of what your electrical needs would be to determine what size service upgrade you will need.

Rick and his team have replaced 1000’s of electrical panels. If you have an electrical panel that is a Federal Pacific brand, we need to replace it immediately. These panels that have an orange color on the breakers have lost their UL rating and are causing fires.

Only trust your electrical panel in the hands of a licensed and trained electrician. Never remove the cover of the electrical panel yourself. There is a very high risk of electrocution and damage to your electrical system that could result in an electrical fire.

Whether you need a fuse-to-circuit breaker upgrade or want to increase the electrical capacity, Richard Marton Electrical Contractor LLC will install the residential electrical panel upgrade that is best for your home. We’ll get the job done right!
